The South of Scotland Alliance was established to promote the interests and raise the profile of the South of Scotland region, particularly in Edinburgh, London and Brussels.

It comprises Dumfries and Galloway Council, Scottish Borders Council, Scottish Enterprise.

The South of Scotland Alliance meets regularly and is jointly chaired by Councillors Ivor Hyslop (Leader of Dumfries and Galloway Council) and Alasdair Hutton (Convener of Scottish Borders Council).
